IBQS Türkiye Iftar Program Held

Our traditional Türkiye iftar was held in Istanbul with wide participation; live connections were made with visually impaired participants from Bangladesh, Somalia, Togo and Uganda.

The traditional Türkiye iftar program of the International Union of Braille Quran Services (IBQS) was held in Istanbul with wide participation. Many guests from the Istanbul Visually Impaired Rehabilitation Center and various civil society organizations attended the event.

The program began with the recitation of an ashir from the Braille Quran and the reading of its meaning. IBQS President Halis Kuralay then briefly introduced the history and activities of the Union. He stated that IBQS aims to provide Braille Qurans to visually impaired Muslims in different parts of the world and to organize Braille Quran training programs. He also noted that in 2025 a Braille Quran course was organized in Uganda for the first time in the history of IBQS and was warmly welcomed by the participants.

During the program, connections were established with visually impaired participants from Bangladesh, Somalia, Togo and Uganda, who shared their thoughts. After the iftar dinner, the program concluded with greeting speeches by former President Selahattin Aydın and Lokman Ayva, Member of Parliament for Istanbul in the 22nd and 23rd terms.
