IBQS President Halis Kuralay Visits Canada

On 4–11 September 2025 IBQS President Halis Kuralay met organizations such as Islamic Relief, the British Columbia Muslim Association and the Muslim Association of Canada in Vancouver, met student groups at the University of British Columbia and gave an interview to the Al-Ameen newspaper.
Halis Kuralay, President of the International Union of Braille Quran Services (IBQS), held a series of meetings in Vancouver, Canada, between 4 and 11 September 2025.
During the visit he met prominent Muslim organizations including Islamic Relief, the British Columbia Muslim Association, the Muslim Association of Canada, Human Concern International and the Furqan Project. He also met student groups at the University of British Columbia and was interviewed by Al-Ameen, one of the region's leading newspapers.
In these meetings the work of IBQS to make the Holy Quran accessible to visually impaired Muslims was introduced, opportunities for cooperation were discussed and steps for the future were considered.

IBQS President Halis Kuralay was in Banjul, the capital of Gambia, on 17–24 January 2026. He attended a meeting of foundations providing religious services in 25 African countries, presented Braille Qurans and Elif primers to the GOVI school for the blind, and guided the founding of a Gambian association to join the Union.
